Orange County Girl Scouts troops and their parents were invited to attend a FREE concert, performed by the Pacific Symphony Youth Wind Ensemble on Tuesday, 11/19/24.
Many of the Girl Scouts were visiting the Segerstrom Concert Hall for the first time!

This program, "Soundscapes & Sonic Stories", conducted by Dr. Gregory Whitmore, includes compositions of Dr. Kevin Day's "Lightning Round" (2022), Harrison J. Collins' "Nocturne - Song for the Setting Sun", first movement (2022) - conducted by guest conductor, Dr. Christine Lundahl, Eric Whitacre's "Goodnight, Moon" (2011), arranged by Verena Mosenbichler-Bryant, with Rich Capparela of KUSC as the narrator, Rolf Rudin's "Der Traum des Oenghus" Part 1 (1993-96), Kenneth Fuchs' "Rush: Concerto for Alto Saxophone and Band" (2011-12), and John Philip Sousa's "The Pathfinder of Panama" (1915).
Prior to soprano, Chelsea Chaves, joins the Wind Ensemble, Mr. Rich Capparela reads the 1947 version of the "Goodnight, Moon" to the audience. After the concert, many photos were taken with the conductors and the alto saxophone soloist in the Box Circle area. The OC Girl Scouts wanted to come back to the concert hall again!
Almost running out of space for more badges and patches. Ms. Lee was on a trip to Canada and attended her son's wedding in Toronto. All the photos from Canada can be found here.

supports children with cancer, internationally. This organization started by a twelve-year-old cancer patient, Jessie Rees, in 2011.
They welcome all kinds of supports to keep Jessie's legacy going.
