Welcome to the IUSD Vocal Music Classes 2008! Ms. Lee had created this page for better parent/teacher communication. Parents will find all important information regarding Ms. Lee's vocal music classes on this page and through out the entire kafm.net website. All the future concert announcements, test announcements, audition application deadlines, and other important information can be found here. Wow! You did it! You were superb!Everyone of our Spring Concerts was just amazing! Thank you all for participating in the Spring Concerts at Concordia University. One last ear training to go next week. Please bring your folder and pencil.

Ms. Lee will be performing with the Pacific Chorale in the Andrea Bocelli Concert at Hollywood Bowl on Sunday, 6/7/09. The concert features lots of Italian songs and arias from several operas. The concert will start at 7:30 p.m. Bring your family and friends!

Happy long weekend, everyone! Please check for due date for overdue singing or writing test at Events. Proposed student music grades will be given to each classroom teacher during the week of 5/25/09.

The Solo Singing Tests are finished. Each classroom teacher will be given a copy of the students' music progress. ALL MAKE-UPs are due Friday, 5/29/09.

The Writing Tests are complete. Parent signature is required for all retakes. Check Events for more detail.

Great job, everyone! Thank you for taking part of the Music In Our Schools Concert at your school during these past two weeks. The performance experience was priceless! If you missed this chance to perform with us, please join us in the June Concert. The June concerts will take place at the Concordia University during the first week of June. Starting today, our Music In Our Schools Concerts will begin at Alderwood, continue with Oak Creek on Friday, 3/20, Eastshore on Monday, 3/23, Brywood on Wednesday, 3/25, and finish with Turtle Rock on Friday, 3/27. Please come and join us with the fun concerts.

The Honors Concert tickets will go on sale online at the Orange County Performing Arts Center or at the box office window, starting Sunday, 3/15. Pre-orders can be made with IPSF.

Ms. Lee will be performing with the Pacific Chorale and the Pacific Symphony Orchestra on Saturday, 3/28, at the Renee and Henry Segerstrom Music Center. The program includes Francis Poulenc's Four Motets and Maurice Durufle's Requiem.

We are off to a good start for the second trimester. The Group Singing Tests had come to an end and 98% of the students did a fantastic job! Very few students still need to see me to demonstrate their music reading skills. The deadline for that is Friday, 2/13.

New president for America and new music for our students. With new music comes the next group of tests: Group Singing Test, week of 2/2, Writing Test, week of 2/10, and Solo Singing Test, week of 2/17. Check Events for more detail.

Welcome back to school. New songs are being passing out. Make sure you check in music folder that you have all the sheet music. Anyone wants to have a recording of all the concert songs, please bring a blank CD to class. Ms. Lee will burn a personal CD just for you!

Ms. Lee will be performing with the Pacific Chorale and the Pacific Symphony Orchestra on Wednesday, 12/17, and Sunday, 12/21, at the Segerstrom Music Center in Costa Mesa. The Sunday concert has been sold out for a while; however, the Wednesday concert is still available. Check the Pacific Chorale link for more information. In the event of no available tickets, the Sunday concert will be boardcasted by KUSC--FM 91.5, on Tuesday, 12/23, at 2 p.m.

Happy Thanksgiving, Everyone! While you are enjoying a peaceful four-day weekend, Ms. Lee had finished all the vocal music grades. They are ready for classroom teachers' input for students' report cards.

Ms. Lee will be accompanying Southern California Vocal Assiciation High School Honor Chorus at Santa Monica High School for today. Please welcome our new sub, Mr. Justin Olvey to Oak Creek and Brywood.

Writing Tests begin today. Check Events for more info. The Study Guide was posted on this site started August 08. If necessary, a make-up writing test should be arranged after a parent had looked and signed the original writing test by the next music class in the weeks of 11/3/08.

Check Forms for a Study Guide and optional Homework Pages. Use Homework Pages as a pre-test to see if you understood everything. The Writing Tests are scheduled to begin on Monday, 10/27/08. Good luck!

10/13/08 Happy Student-Free Day! The music teachers will be working on Honors Concert packet together at Northwood High School. All 5th and 6th grade vocal music students are eligible to audition into our Honor Chorus. This will be the first year that IUSD's Honors Concert will be held in the Renee and Henry Segerstrom Music Center. Look for the audition packets in the near future!

Beginning this morning, each class will be divided into Instrumental and Vocal to receive more information about each class. Be sure to bring your signed form to school. Enjoy a wonderful class.

Please come to the "Parent Music Night" at Oak Creek, MPR, 6:30 pm.

9/8/08 Starting today, each school will meet with the music team to get information about this school year's music opportunities. Make sure you receive a Music Class Selection Form. Take it home and review it with parents and sign up for your favorite class!
8/25/08

Mr. Kroesen, Mrs. Kroesen and Ms. Lee had moved the music rooms around at Oak Creek Elementary School due to the expanding student population. The Vocal Music at Oak Creek will be held in the ChildCare portable #3 this year. Please make sure that you know where it is on Pak Creek campus!

The rehearsals have begun! Ms. Lee will be performing at the Orange County Performing Arts Center Music Hall with PSO and Pacific Chorale, on Saturday, September 13, 2008. This concert involves the world premier work by Alva Henderson. Come and check it out.

8/13/08 Ms. Lee will attend the Blackboard Training session and prepare for her Blackboard accounts to enable all students and parents to check information about her classes. Students and parents will be able to check progress and grades online via internet in the near future.
8/3/08 Ms. Lee's piano students will participate in a student recital at Ms. Lee's house. Everyone is welcome to come to this free concert. For more info, contact Ms. Lee.

Greetings from Oakhurst, California, the home of the American Choral Directors Association, California. The head clinician is Randall Stroope, a very famous American choral composer.

7/25/08 The Fine Arts Summer School has come to a glorious end. Ms. Lee was proud to be the Exploratory Arts music teacher for the past 10 years!
